Preparing samples by clarification is an essential first step for nearly all analytical techniques. Sample preparation by clarification is particularly important for techniques such as high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC). HPLC, however, presents some challenges today: It requires precision particle removal (from small volumes) that need to come through filters that do not add extractables or leachables to the mix that can complicate analysis. The process has to be fast and very easy. HPLC is hard enough – preparing samples for it should not be!

Glass & Quartz Microfibre Filters
Depth Filters for Prefiltration, Clarification of liquids and Air Monitoring
Glass & Quartz Microfiber Filters combine fast flow rates with high load capacity and retention of very fine particles. As depth filters, they retain particles on the surface of the filter and trap them in their structure as well.
Glass microfiber filters with binders are recommended for monitoring air and gas or as a prefilter. Binder-free glass microfiber filters have been manufactured for analytical and gravimetric analyses and prefiltration. Quartz microfiber filters are especially suited for emission monitoring at highest temperatures and wherever filters of the highest purity are needed.
